inspired by margaret olley

This one is for all the Australian bloggers out there and of course the rest of you. I was looking for something online when I came across this beautiful styling on the website of Australian House & Garden. It was inspired by the paintings of Australian artist Margaret Olley (b. 1923), who passed away last year. I was fascinated by the use of rich colours and all the wonderful details. This is the work of stylist Matt Page, photographed by Maree Homer. You can view more photos by opening the link above and there is also a short behind-the-scene video, where Matt Page talks about the idea behind all this.

  1. I love the rich colours in the last two images. And those flowers by the bed are so beautiful! What an exuberant arrangement, it would brighten up any room, but I would love to have them in my bedroom. xo

  2. These images are incredible! I wish I could be so bold with colour and pattern in my own home (too much of a chicken)! I am particularly drawn to the collection of blue goodies at the bottom - the pattern of the fabric is stunning!

  13. I love the blue inspired shot; bottom row. There is something so natural, organic and bohemian about Olley's work that sings. Just like these styled shots.
